I lived in Rhinebeck and these people honour the town in a beautiful way!
Not so friendly.
Known for its pancakes, kind of pricey, but great place for brunch
Pancake is good but bicuit is great. You should try biscuit.
Amazing Japanese style pancakes in a cool traditional Japanese building. Large portions.
If you’re looking for something a little familiar but don’t want the guilt of going to McDonald’s, this place is perfect. Pancakes perfectly cooked with Japanese precision, only one will do (they’re huge). It’s a bit of a hike but well worth it.
On the branch
It seemed like a popular pancake restaurant in Kyoto. We tried for the breakfast there but I was not impressed at all. Pancake was soft but plain in taste. It came with a thin slice of bacon, an egg & syrup. Besides the coffee from the breakfast set tasted horrible. However it was expensive. It was located in an old converted residence house which may appeal to some customers.
I'm sure the pancake is great, but it's been an hour since I ordered it and a cup of coffee (haven't been served that either). I'm not only hungry but running out if time to get to my next destination.
A syrup of sweetness that is gentle to fluffy pancakes.I will eat silently.Should I say elegant sweetness like Japanese sweets? It is such an impression.More relaxing atmosphere ◎!
The pancake was alright. The worst part of this experience, which was difficult to translate but noted, was that they only cook one pancake at a time. A friend and I went here to grab breakfast, and from the time we entered to the time we received our pancakes, over an hour had elapsed. They did take our order before we even sat down.In my opinion, if you want to eat, either be the first people here, or go someplace else.
Pancake house in Kyoto Machiya style. Pancake was too sweet.
Pancake filling with cheese cream in it. Taste good and the portion is just nice.
Yummy!
The taste was very delicious. It was a sweet menu, but it is just too sweet as the sugar distribution is properly adjusted. It seems that cream is also made on the spot, so it is light enough and soft feeling as if you can eat as much as you want.I felt that the atmosphere as a hideout is unique to Kyoto.Sweat came out in heating in winter. (In other words, I think you will coordinate it.It is a recommended shop that you want to go again though it is far from the station that the price is slightly higher.
The best pancake place in Kyoto. It's located on a small street, but it's not hard to find. This place used to be a traditional house and the brand Matsunosuke transformed the house to a pancake place. There is a small garden inside the house; it's so adorable.
Expensive, but you absolutely have to go here at least once and eat some pancakes :DI've been two days in Kyoto, and both having breakfast there. 100% recommended.
It is a popular muffin shop in Kyoto. There are also many Japanese. There are not many seats. If it is in the afternoon tea time, you may need to line up. The muffin taste is solid. Qingming Shrines nearby can be lined up together
The pancake was too sweet even the sweet lover like me hate it.
The pancakes were delicious. Original maple syrup was also not too sweet. However, it is not suitable for meeting with colleagues at a café with a nice atmosphere or working on a computer at a vacant time. When the personal computer is released, the clerk will come to tell the message "We are refusing to work out a long time computer."It was a rattle inside the shop, but ...It was disappointing because it was a shop that I visited looking for places where I can work a little while having fun with my colleagues.
Both scone and pancake are superb!
Good pancakes and comfy cafe
Traditional environment to enjoy a tasty pancake.
店員の態度が全くなってない。気分悪くなるから行かない方がいい。
Machiya Pancake
i do not know much about muffins, so i do not make a comment. The building is ancient, small and exquisite.
Awesome pancakes!
We came from across town to eat here. The staff wasn’t inviting, wasn’t pleasant. Had to ask for help translating menu. There’s a limited menu with app. 6 items before 10am. Don’t try to get strawberries or bananas on your pancake before 10am! The inflexible grumpy staff will not allow it. Save your time and eat somewhere else. It wasn’t nice starting the day at this restaurant.
Terrible coffee and unfriendly service
Amazing pancakes and great service, don't know why this is rated below 4 stars!
Very good pancake. Very delicious. Pancakes are the most delicious.
It's not that it's not delicious, but honestly it's the second time.I was the only one, but the customer service was the worst
Delicious food. Service good
It tends to be marshy and tastes fresh. It has a good egg flavor, and cheese flavor is recommended for breakfast.
Tried their pancakes for several times and they never disappoint me. But I’d say the service is just average and can be improved with more smiles.
Great strawberry pancake. Many choices of pancake toppning and really good icecream/cream on the top
Best pancakes in Japan. Somewhat cold staff though.
The best pancakes in town! The pancakes here are simple yet delicious. They are made to order so it takes about 20 minutes. Always crowded but it is definitely worth the wait. Try their ricotta pancakes (fluffy, amazing!).
The pancakes were great and a nice cup of coffee. Everything is presented well and made with quality ingredients. The staff was friendly but only speaks Japanese. It's a cozy spot and would recommend getting there first thing in the morning to avoid waiting. The fact they opened around 8am for breakfast makes it one of the few places to consider.
I mean it's a damn fine pancake, no doubt, but for 10 bucks it damned better be.
Fluffy pancakes! Yummy! The place is good! The pancakes are good! The staff is good!
Pancake was OK 2/5syrup wasn't enough 1/5, syrup flavor 2/5Coffee was terrible. Instant? 0/5Egg over cooked (maybe my fault, I didn't say anything, tho the pic showed sunny side up, it was basted) 2/5Over all I would go there again and try the pie, it looked good. But only if I were in the neighborhood, which, tho I live in Kyoto, never am.
After walking tired, moderate sweetness was the best. I forgot the name but was it Apple Cream? We shared 1600 yen for two people and ate. About 15 o'clock walking, the pancakes are about 2 centimeters and fluffy. It fits well with a cream of moderate sweetness and apple, so I can get tired. At the Kyomachiya, a residential area in Nishijin, when you enter the entrance on the left, there is a corridor that looks like a dirt floor. Chairs and tables are lined up in a renovated space of a private house. A small courtyard and a toilet in the back. There is a wash basin separate from the toilet, and this corona can help when hand washing is required. The price was a little high, but there were also simple toppings and affordable menus such as morning.
the pancake is so delicious, and staffs are kind.
really good cake
It is said to be a popular coffee shop onlineAlso recommended on the home map of the homestayAt the homestay you can walk for about 7 minutesSo I decided to give it a tryBlack facade minimalist low keyInside is a very casual and cozy little space with few seatsCome for a muffin for breakfast one morning in JulyNon-holiday and morning, there are not many customers in the store, all are JapaneseBreakfast menu from 8-10amOrder is the simplest Plain pancake (¥ 680)The muffins waited for a while before they should come. The muffins were still warm when servedThe cut is very soft and has a slight egg aroma when eatenTopped with sweet maple sugar and butterVery satisfied and full, not greasy at allBreakfast that is perfect for a new day journey
Good pancakes, but too expensive... two portions + 2 coffee is more than ¥5000
I like simple the mostI love strawberries and bananas.Carefully made pancakes are the best.Of course, the menu changes depending on the season. It's a shop where you can have fun.I want you to keep it simple.
Cosy, girly little cafe specialized in pancakes. The ricotta pancake was quite surprising and filling.
Best skone ever - amazing whipped cream and marmelade - good pancakes - Nice for Quick breakfast or tea time
